Getting there and the terminal
Krilo Kapetan Luka runs a catamaran on the long route from Pula in Istria to Zadar, stopping at Unije, Susak, Mali Lošinj and Ilovik as well as Silba. The boat leaves Pula on Friday and Sunday mornings and returns from Zadar in the afternoon of the same day.
Check-in
Be at the quay 30 minutes before departure at every stop on the line, in Pula just as on the islands along the way.
On board
Each passenger is allowed 23 kilograms of luggage, and the crew will take more if there is space. Small pets travel in a carrier bag in the lounge, larger ones in a suitable cage on deck; dogs must be on a lead and usually muzzled, and you should carry proof of vaccination.
Vehicles and bikes
The catamaran doesn't carry cars. Bicycles are possible, but only with limited spaces and at your own risk, for the price of a normal passenger ticket. If you want to take your car to Cres or other Kvarner islands, you need one of the Jadrolinija car ferries; see our guide to car ferries in Croatia.
Arrival and onward travel
Halfway along the route lies Mali Lošinj, the largest town on the island of Lošinj, with a well-equipped harbour; the other villages on the island are easy to reach from there. The smaller islands of Unije, Susak and Ilovik in between are sparsely populated and have only a few places to stay. If you travel all the way to Zadar, you arrive in the old town and can continue south from there, for example by ferry to Dugi Otok.
