Krilo Shipping Company: the operator

Table of Contents

Two operators, one name

Search online for "Krilo" and you will soon come across two different ferry companies: Krilo Shipping Company (trading as Split Fast Ferries) and Krilo Kapetan Luka. Both have "Krilo" in their name and both operate around Split, but the shared name is a coincidence, not a corporate link. Krilo Shipping Company is an independent company based in Split, founded in 2016 and registered with the Split Commercial Court as "Krilo shipping company d.o.o.". Krilo Kapetan Luka, for its part, is officially registered as "KAPETAN LUKA KRILO d.o.o." and grew out of a family business near Split that has been running catamaran lines since 2001. So when you book, check which operator is listed for your departure.

The operator

Krilo Shipping Company was founded in 2016 and runs its catamarans from Split to the nearby islands of Šolta, Brač and Hvar. The fleet consists of the ships Naranča, Jaffa and Orangina.

Routes from Split

From Split, the operator serves the short route to Rogač on Šolta and several lines to neighbouring Brač: to Supetar, Bol, Milna and Sutivan. There is also a seasonal line to Jelsa on the north coast of Hvar. Two further routes link the islands directly, without the detour via Split: Milna - Rogač between Brač and Šolta, and Bol - Jelsa between Brač and Hvar.

On board

The catamarans have seating only and no cabins. Each passenger's ticket includes one standard suitcase of up to 20 kilograms plus one smaller piece of hand luggage; larger or extra items may be charged for when booking.
