Getting there and the terminal

Ancona - Split is one of the shortest Adriatic crossings between Italy and central Dalmatia and is served in turn by Jadrolinija and SNAV: in summer it is mainly SNAV, and from autumn Jadrolinija takes over the line. Both operators run the route as an overnight crossing, usually leaving in the evening and arriving in Split the next morning.

Check-in

Get to the terminal in good time: on its Italy - Croatia line SNAV requires you to check in at least 3 hours before departure, while the Jadrolinija desk opens 2 hours beforehand. Have valid ID ready and, if you are travelling with a vehicle, its registration documents. Jadrolinija explicitly asks for both at check-in.

On board

How much luggage you can take free of charge depends on the ship and the operator. On board, both operators accept cash and cards.

Vehicles and bikes

The line is a classic car ferry carrying cars, motorhomes and motorbikes. The rules for bicycles depend on the ship in service.

Arrival and onward travel

In Split you dock at the ferry port right in the heart of the city. The old town with Diocletian's Palace and the connections to the islands of Brač, Hvar, Šolta and Korčula are just a few minutes' walk away. From there you can carry on, for example by catamaran to Hvar or to Brač. All lines from the port are listed on ferries from Split, and the other crossings from Italy on Italy - Croatia ferries.
