Getting there and the terminal

The catamarans to Hvar leave from Split's city port, on the eastern side of the harbour in the centre. All lines from Split are listed on ferries from Split, and combinations of several islands in our guide to island hopping in Croatia.

Check-in

TP Line and Krilo Kapetan Luka recommend being at the quay at least 15 minutes before departure; Jadrolinija's requirement is stated in your booking confirmation.

On board

The catamarans are seating-only boats without cabins, and you sit inside. Payment options on board vary by boat and operator.

Vehicles and bikes

All three operators on this line run passenger-only catamarans that don't carry vehicles. With your car, you cross on Jadrolinija's car ferry from Split to Stari Grad. The crossing takes around two hours, and your ticket is also your reservation for the departure you booked. In summer Jadrolinija recommends being at the port 60 minutes before departure. Find out more about car ferries to Hvar in our guide to car ferries in Croatia. Bicycles are not allowed on Jadrolinija's catamarans.

Arrival and onward travel

The catamarans dock in the harbour of Hvar Town, right on the waterfront below the fortress. From there you can walk to the old town and most hotels in a few minutes. Just offshore lie the Pakleni Islands, a popular day trip by water taxi.
